Service Description
QA L3 Community First Responders RQF This QA qualification has been developed to prepare Learners to become community first responders. It has been designed to give Learners a basic level of prehospital care knowledge and clinical practice to deal with life-threatening emergencies such as cardiac arrest. Effective early interventions by community first responders have been shown to have a positive impact on patient outcomes, and are reflected in the qualification content. This specification provides information for Centres about the delivery of Qualsafe Level 3 Award for Community First Responders (RQF) and includes the unit information, assessment methods and quality assurance arrangements. Objective The objective of the qualification is to benefit Learners by providing them with the knowledge and skills to administer emergency care at life-threatening incidents prior to the arrival of further medical assistance. Learners will gain the necessary skills associated with the role of a community first responder. Whilst achievement of this qualification confirms Learners have met both the theoretical and practical requirements, this does not imply a ‘license to practice’ - the scope of practice for which will be determined by the organisation responsible for the governance of community first responders. Intended audience This qualification is for people who are performing or aspiring to perform as a community first responder. Entry requirements Learners must be at least 18 years old on the first day of the training. Learners must have successfully completed the Qualsafe Level 2 Award in Principles of Community First Response (RQF) qualification (including pre-kit familiarisation). There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy or equivalent. Requalification requirements This qualification is valid for a period of 3 years. The Learner must undertake annual refresher training and retake the qualification before the certificate expiry date to remain qualified.
Cancellation Policy
It is the duty of the employer to ensure that all students meet the course pre-requisites. General Course Pre-Requisites: Students must have the ability to cope with the course theory and practical activities and possess a basic level of literacy in the English language. Specific course pre-requisites are included with each course overview. If the Customer notifies PFS in writing of an intention to cancel any course booking more than 2 weeks prior to the commencement date a full refund of any course fees paid shall be given (with no cancellation penalty due), within 1-2 weeks of the commencement date 55% of the course fees shall remain payable and less than 1 week prior to the commencement date no refund shall be given. PFS will issue a cancellation number upon notice of cancellation. This number should be quoted on all further correspondence. (No Credits will be raised without a cancellation number). No refund shall be given and the full course fee shall remain payable should a student fail any course provided by PFS and PFS make no guarantee as to a student successfully passing any course. No refund shall be given if a student does not attend and the full course fee shall remain payable. PFS reserves the right to refuse entry to any learner failing to produce photo i.d. or failing to complete pre course activities. Requests for copies of certificates must be made in writing and are subject to an administration charge of £10.00 each. Students attending a two-day FAW requalify course must hold a current First Aid at Work Certificate and be able to produce this on request, or produce at course commencement. PFS shall not be liable for mistreatment of any person or property arising out of the Customer's failure to follow the guidelines set out by PFS in its courses. PFS reserves the right to cancel and/or amend course dates, times, contents and venues. Every effort will be made to give the Customer as much notice as possible and offer a reasonable alternative. If these are not satisfactory, PFS shall refund in full the price of the course. No further compensation will be given. Any written notice given under these terms and conditions shall be served either by registered post or by Email/facsimile to the relevant party's registered/principal office or last known address.
